FAQ

How do I book?
Each of our artists organise their bookings individually, and their contact details can be found on the contact page of our website. Alternatively, you are welcome to come in and see us in person, at 42 Kensington Place (a Google Maps link can be found on our home page).
-
Do you do piercings?
At present, we do not offer piercings. We recommend Caroline at Ankh Piercing, or Ayla at Pretty Ink, both of whom can be contacted through their Instagrams and Facebooks.
-
Can I see a design before my appointment?
Our artists do not start working on designs until after a booking has been secured with a deposit. Our time between liaising with clients, arranging bookings, drawing designs, social media management, and actually tattooing, is limited, so we are not able to offer designs if it may still be that someone will decide not to book, or may unfortunately take our design elsewhere.
When your appointment is secured, if you mention to your artist that you would like to see your design beforehand, they will usually be happy to do so.
-
What is a deposit?
Deposits are a small payment upon confirming your appointment, each artist sets their own deposit rate as they see fit but this is usually around £40. Your deposit secures your booking, and goes towards preparation and design time. Your deposit is not refundable, except in the case of emergency at the artists discretion. We are understanding that sometimes emergencies or illness happen unforeseen, but we ask that clients are also understanding that cancellations may mean that we do not get paid for that day/part of that day, so please double check work and personal commitments before finalising your appointment.

How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
It is illegal to tattoo minors under the age of 16 years of age. Minors ages 16 and 17 can be tattooed with a parent’s/guardian’s consent, and at least one parent/guardian must accompany the minor to the session to fill out the Under 18s consent form (the parent/guardian does not have to stay for the duration of the session). Both minor and parent/guardian will need photographic ID, and we will need to ask for proof of parenthood/guardianship in the case of different surnames. Anyone is free to get tattooed at their own will after the age of 18, and there is no upper age limit for tattoos- it's never too late!
-
Do you do coverups/ scar coverups?
We do offer coverups/reworks of old pieces, and can tattoo over most scars. We can cover/rework old pieces in the event you are not able or do not feel comfortable to return to the original artist. Coverups and reworks operate on very case by case bases, and we will usually ask to see the piece/ area of scarring in person. It is helpful if you have an idea of what you might like your coverup to consist of, but we do advise that coverups are lead by the size, complexity, placement, and density of the original piece, which can limit options for an effective coverup, so it is good to come to a coverup consultation with an open mind and good faith in your artist.
-
How much will it cost?
Our studio minimum charge is £80 for tattoos, which reflects materials, prep time, tattoo time, the skill and time of the artist, clinical waste disposal after your session, and studio costs. We are sometimes able to offer 2 or 3 designs for this cost if they are exceptionally small. For larger pieces, our artists do have an hourly rate of £80, but as we both tend to tattoo quickly this seldom accurately reflects the worth of the piece. Instead, we tend to charge on a piece by piece basis, factoring in the size, complexity, placement, and colour/shading.
For nail art prices, please see Lindsay's price list under our 'Artists' page.
