42 Tattoo Studio is a modern creative space in the heart of St. Helier, Jersey. You can find us at 42 Kensington Place, just opposite Cafe Spice.

The studio hosts two resident tattoo artists: Naomi Du Feu and Caitlin Fauve; and our resident nail artist, Lindsay Rutter, more about whom can be found on the artist section of our website.

Find out more about our ethos, intentions for the space, and accessibility accommodations below.

Opening Hours

As we often try to accommodate booking clients in around varying schedules, we do not have set times for our artists to be in the studio, but generally you can expect to find us:

Our Intention

Our Intention

Whether it’s your first or your fiftieth, we know that getting tattooed can be daunting, and we want to minimise this as much as possible by creating a warm and easeful atmosphere for everyone.

It is our hope for 42 Tattoo Studio that it will bridge the gap of the stereotype of older style tattoo studios, by creating a welcoming creative space where clients and friends are comfortable passing through, for an appointment, just to say hello, or to check our our range of merch from our artists, and our creative friends locally and abroad. It is so important to us that this is a community oriented studio, and we are constantly trying to update what we offer, to create the best creative space available to us.

As part of ensuring our studio is welcoming and safe for both our clients and artists, we uphold certain values for our space. 42 Tattoo Studio will not tolerate any hateful language, including but not limited to racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, sexism, body shaming, or religious discrimination; and we reserve the right to withhold our services if these opinions are displayed.

We also aim to make tattoos as accessible as possible for every body, and are happy to offer accommodations including:

    • Silent sessions, where we will minimise conversation to only when necessary such as explaining consent forms, discussing stencil placement, and making the client aware of the tattoo procedure.

    • Comfort items: You are welcome to bring a book, headphones, a device to watch TV on, or fidget toys, to make their experience sitting their tattoo more relaxing. We also encourage you to bring snacks and a sugary drink and water.

    • Friends: You are welcome to bring a friend (though unfortunately we do usually have to limit it to one due to limited seating and studio space) or parent/s to their session for moral support.

    • Positioning: our beds are currently flat massage beds, with one end which can be raised, which means most sessions are carried out lying or reclined, but accommodations can be made if that is not possible due to injury or mobility.

    • And of course, your artist is empathetic to the pain of being tattooed, they will reassure you at the beginning of your session that you absolutely have the right to ask for a break at any time during your session.

All of the artists at 42 Tattoo Studio are firm believers in the importance of community, especially within the arts; and we believe it is a shame that for a variety of reasons, these community- oriented creative spaces are dwindling.

As a result of this, upon planning and building the studio, Caitlin and Naomi fast agreed on doing what they could to supplement this community. The forefront of which is our affectionately dubbed ‘community wall’ in the reception area, which consists of a variety of artworks by local artists. All of these works are available to purchase, and 100% of proceeds go to the artist.
